Stormwater Management Plan (Drainage Design) is prepared to remove the excess water in development. This could be floodwater, rainwater, and different kinds of runoff. The excess water can be designed to be detained within an on-site detention tank, re-purposed for various usage or can be discharged to the environment or to the municipal assets. The drainage design is a plan or set of plans used to inform the Local Authority  about the requirements for surface water drainage system onsite, as it enhances the conceptual strategy proposed as part of the drainage strategy.
